Brisbane Northside Church is a young and growing church committed to simple, authentic Christianity. We believe church does not need to be complicated to be powerful. Our gatherings are centred on Spirit-led worship, strong biblical teaching, and meaningful fellowship, often continuing over Sunday lunch together.
We value authenticity over performance and community over production. Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a church family where you can belong and grow, you are warmly welcome.

Our Ministry Team
Brisbane Northside Church began meeting in July 2023 under the leadership of Pastor Vince and Denise Esterman, together with a committed team who share a heart for reaching the northern suburbs of Brisbane with the Gospel.
Pastor Vince and Denise Esterman
Vince has been in pastoral and church planting ministry since 1977, serving in Australia and France and helping establish more than thirty churches over nearly five decades.
Denise has over 35 years’ experience in children’s and family ministry, as well as in leadership development.
Peter and Yukino Malins
Peter, originally from Brisbane, Australia, was called by God as a missionary to Japan where he served as worship and youth leader in the New Hope church Tokyo, for 15 years. During this time, he met and fell in love with Yukino, a bubbly outgoing Japanese young lady. They married and continued serving in the church till it was time for Peter and Yukino to return to Australia.
They joined our ministry team in January 2025 and have been involved very effectively in worship, preaching and pastoral care. Their ministry roots, being essentially missionary, the Lord opened a significant door in the WEC organisation (World Evangelism Crusade?) which they joined. Since returning to Australia, they have ministered in ethic churches in Brisbane and the Gold Coast as well as ministry in the Solomon Islands where Peter was a conference speaker and the Philippines to train young people from all over south-east Asia for ministry and leadership.
We are proud to have them in our EMI ministry team and the Brisbane Northside church as our missionaries to the world.
Chaplain James O’Keefe
James will always be remembered as the man who had the original vision for outreach work in northern Brisbane.
After spending 50 years working as an airline pilot and instructor in Malaysia, James returned to Australia with his wife, Barbara, and completed a course to become a chaplain. He serves the wider community by acting as a chaplain for shared houses for otherwise homeless people in Brisbane. He has a particular gift for leading Share groups, giving each person the opportunity to lead. In addition to his chaplaincy duties, he ministers to a Filipino group and reaches out to the general public.
Who do we belong to?
Both Brisbane Northside Church and Esterman Ministries International are members of the Crosslink Christian Network, a movement of churches across Australia and beyond. Pastor Vince is an endorsed pastor within this network and a registered marriage celebrant.
Family Ministry
Our church community welcomes with open arms families who desire to learn and grow in faith as they serve God together and deepen their relationship with Him.
Children remain with their families during the worship time and are then invited to join trained volunteers for age-appropriate ministry during the sermon. We are committed to helping children feel safe, known, and included in church life.
Our Family Ministry team also aims to equip and support Christian parents who take seriously their role in helping their children develop a personal relationship with God on a daily basis.
Mid-Week Share Groups
Throughout the week, we gather in smaller home-based share groups in various locations.
These groups include Bible teaching, discussion, prayer, and the opportunity to share life together in a warm and supportive environment. They are suitable for all ages and provide space to ask questions, grow in understanding, and build meaningful relationships.
